Men and Pilates
Yes men do Pilates too! Pilates is a comprehensive head-to-toe workout, but it’s often misidentified as exercise for women. In fact, it might surprise you that Pilates was originally created for men.
A German born gymnast and boxer Joseph Pilates developed the Pilates technique and trained numerous boxers and circus performers in his day. It was only later that the technique was discovered by the dance and female community.
Today, many famous male professional athletes, such as Tiger Woods (professional golfer), the New Zealand All Blacks (Rugby) and various Olympic athletes have added Pilates to their training programmes, in order to enhance their strength, coordination and flexibility by developing their core muscle areas and to assist with injury recovery.
